A level Results – 17 August 2017

Huge congratulations go to all our students on their fabulous performances in this year’s A level and BTEC examinations. Our record breaking results this year reflect the hard work and talent of our students and they show a further improvement on the excellent performances achieved last year. These results deserve particular praise and celebration given the major turbulence and change in the A level exam system at present.

Our overall A level subject results show a superb, record breaking 66% of grades awarded at A*-B and a highly impressive average grade B achieved across all entries. Our A*-B grade equivalence for A level and BTEC is an outstanding 68% with all students achieving at least a Merit in their BTEC studies. There are a number of exceptional individual performances with thirty of our students achieving 3 or more A*/A grades or equivalent and with fifteen students achieving four or more A*/A grades or equivalent.

The vast majority of our students have had their first choice of university places confirmed, with an impressive 5 Oxbridge candidates and 3 medics succeeding in their applications.

Our results represent a fabulous achievement by our students and they reflect their talents and efforts and the impact of the excellent support offered by their families and by our staff. These results really stand out and deserve congratulations given the major changes and the challenging national backdrop in education at present.

We wish our students every happiness and success as they embark upon new courses and in careers beyond our school. I am delighted that our continued success enables us to realise the potential of our school community and to give our students a great start as they shape their future.

Well done to all those who have taken BTEC and A level exams this year – we hope you enjoy celebrating this well- deserved success!
