GCSE Results – 24 August 2017

Congratulations go to all our Year 11 students on their excellent performances in this summer’s exams and on recording another record breaking set of GCSE results in a time of substantial change and uncertainty.

This year, an outstanding 81% of students achieved the new 9-4 grades in both English and Maths. The Average Attainment Eight score saw students record an average of 58.5 points with our students averaging a grade B across the eight subjects included within this measure.

In another fantastic achievement, a record 40.5% of entries were at A*/A or equivalent. Stunning numbers of students received the new grade 9 with over 12% of English entries achieving this grade and over 9% of entries gaining this in Mathematics. A record forty five students gained at least 9 grades at A*/A or equivalent.

Our students and staff deserve particular praise for their efforts and their success this year in the light of the changing national context. These excellent results reflect the talent and hard work of our students, the support they have received from their families and crucially the excellent teaching and support provided by the staff within our school.

Today builds on the success achieved in our AS and A level results and it is another great day to be part of our Fulford community and to celebrate the successes of our students.

Congratulations and well done to all involved.
