Fulford Music

Fulford School is proud to offer first class Music Education to the whole York Community.

The purpose of Fulford Music Academy is to offer bespoke music tuition to the community, with highly qualified teachers at very competitive rates. We offer one to one and group lessons with highly qualified and experienced musician teachers. Whatever your instrument of choice and whether you’re a beginner or an experienced musician, please contact us to arrange a taster lesson with any of our tutors. We look forward to helping you to develop your musical skills!

For pupils at Key Stage 2 and 3. Many children in primary schools have had free ukulele lessons for a year. Should your child wish to continue learning, or even begin completely from scratch, we provide affordable classes in groups of 4 or 6 to make this possible!

Curriculum Leader for Music – Fulford School

Emma Delany

Emma is currently studying for a Masters in Community Music at the University of York. She completed her undergraduate degree in Music at York, where she was a first study singer and second study pianist. She also enjoys choral directing, and currently conducts a community choir in the city of York, as well as two singing groups at the university.

Simon Bolley

Simon has a BA Hons degree in Music Performance and a Masters in Music Composition.  He is an experienced guitarist and specialises in improvisation.

Thomas Andrews

Tom graduated from YSJ with a BA Hons in music and now works extensively throughout York in a variety of music-based settings. Although Tom is a first study guitarist, here at Fulford he is our ukulele tutor.

There are several ways to get in touch with us.

The term “us” or “we” refers to Fulford Music Academy, Fulfordgate, York, YO10 4FY.

The term “you” refers to the student, user or viewer of our website.

By agreeing, you are consenting to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.

  • All staff and equipment must be respected at all times. Fulford Music Academy reserves the right to refuse access if behaviour/conduct is not considered safe or acceptable.
  • Fees are due at the start of each term.
  • Full payment by cheque must accompany the registration form. Cheque should be made payable to Fulford School. New students starting mid-term will be charged accordingly.
  • Refunds cannot be made for sessions missed due to short term illness or absence. Long term illness will be considered on merit.
  • We reserve the right to close any course we deem to be not financially viable due to low enrollments and to refund you your course fee.
  • Each activity has a maximum capacity. If your request cannot be facilitated due to groups being full we will contact you to discuss alternative options, place you on a waiting list, or return your payment.
  • Discounts are available for students on free school meals and looked after children – please contact the school for further details.

Personal Information

Some physical contact with the students may be required to correct stance or other aspects of technique. Appropriate clothing should be worn by students, which does not cause offence or embarrassment to themselves or any other individual.

Photographic Permission

When joining Fulford Music Academy you will be asked to give photographic permission. Photographs and filming will occasionally be taken and are used to record and promote the work at Fulford Music Academy. Only adults and children with photographic permission will appear in publicity.
